We've been delighted to see the ever increasing momentum around the widget platform, which is highlighted by the announcement and formation of the Wholesale Application Community (WAC), enabling global market reach for your apps.
And to ensure we are providing the best market reach for your widgets we wanted to let you to know about some changes that are currently underway to our systems that will enable you to upload your widgets for publication through WAC. Whilst our systems are being updated there will be a number of changes regarding widget submission - these are:
- You will continue to be able to upload and publish widgets but these widgets will not appear in the Vodafone shop (the widget will remain in status "under review")
- Updates to your widgets will not take affect in the Vodafone shop (the widgets will remain in status “under review”)
- You will not be able to un-publish nor revoke your widget
- If you update your settlement currency this will not be automatically reflected – this will be changed manually by our finance team
- Developer reporting will move to a manual monthly process. The existing daily reports will no longer be shown
We plan to have the system back online as before by February 2011. We appreciate that this isn't ideal but we're working as fast as we can to make the overall developer experience better for you.

You can continue to test your widgets using the Ripple emulator or on the latest handsets using our FREE Vodafone Handset cloud http://developer.vodafone.com/develop-apps/test/.
And we are still accepting submission of native Android applications as usual http://developer.vodafone.com/develop-apps/android/.
